OWH Sketch #111

This is it for my all day craftiness...and I saved the best for last! The sketch that is! I'm not too sure of my version of it! :-)
Take one:
Take two:
In terms of DP, I really stepped out of the box on these! I will try this one again...using my more tradional methods, of course.

Card Patterns Sketch 155...

For some reason this one was a hard one for me. I think my focal was a little too big, so the rest of the elements seem crowded. Take one:

I think I like the second one better. Even though I didn't "stay true" to the sketch, it just feels right...and that's what matters the most. I will try this sketch again. I really need to conquer the space issue! :-)

Go To Sketch...

I have been MIA for awhile! I have made a few cards, but I have been "lazy"...I haven't felt like posting. It takes a lot of time to post everyday. (or even just once a week!) I think I will just try to post the cards with the challenge info without all of the ingredients for a short time. Maybe I will feel inclined to post more often!

Here is a few cards I did the first part of this month. It is a "Go to Sketch" from Paper Crafts Magazine January/February, 2012. I really love this sketch! Enjoy...

Fall to Layout #177

I made a couple of cards for the challenge at the Clean & Simple blog.
It was a little challenging for me at first, but turned out to be a great layout. The embossing is what made the difference for me. There was way too much "space" for me. Embossing is a wonderful way to fill the space, but keep the clean & simple aspect of the card. Enjoy...

Supplies: DP-Summer's End (Fancy Pants). Cardstock-Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip (SU). Scallop Circles (SU stash). Embossing Folders (ProvoCraft). Stamp-Mixed Bunch (SU). Dies-Dizzy Doily Duo (MFT). Punches-Build a Bird, Blossom (SU). Sentiments (EAD Designs).

Wow...I almost forgot to get my card entered into the Card Patterns challenge in time! I had them done. I just didn't get it posted. Here's the sketch...

Here's my cards. I usually make two cards from every card sketch. I try to use different DP and colors. This gives me two opportunities to accomplish the goal...Sometime one works and one doesn't! I love how both of these turned out. Hope you enjoy...

Teresa's Card Making Day-Part 2...

I hope you don't mind...I decided to split up my post. Blogging is so new to me and I didn't want anyone to think I was rambling on too much! This is the second card I made using the OWH Sketch #108...

Slightly more whimsical in nature, but I love how it turned out! Just shows you how much that can be done with this sketch.

Supplies: DP-Walk in the Park (Echo Park). Cardstock-Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso (SU). Image-Feathered Friends (E.A.D. Designs). Die-Woodgrain Fence (MFT). Twine (stash)

Teresa's Card Making Day-Part 1

Here's this week's sketch from OWH. I really enjoyed  this sketch because it has so many possibilities. I actually made two cards and I can see myself using this sketch over and over! Hope you enjoy...
My first card is my hubby's Valentine's Day card. I usually end up buying a card for him, but decided to "jump" right in and make one. Show him that all that money I spend on my hobby is worth it! ;-D
The vine I stamped is actually a Christmas stamp. It is from Great Impressions and I liked what I imagined I could do with it! LOL! Here's the stamp...
As you can see it has several snowflakes on it. I just covered them with my hearts. I'm thinking I can use flowers and other miscellaneous items on this as well.
Supplies: DP-Heart to Heart (Fancy Pants). Cardstock-Whisper White, Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler (SU). Stamp-Snowflake Swirl Background (Great Impressions). Punches-Heart to Heart, Small Heart (SU)

Happy Birthday Dad...

Here's the card I made for my father-in-law's birthday. He will be 89 on Valentine's Day! We celebrated a few days early by piggin' out at the local pizzeria's buffet...I have been saving calories all week for this splurge!

The sketch is from last year...Sketchy Sunday TG009 by Tiffany Johnson. I love the sketch and it worked well with the card. I don't do many masculine cards, so I needed all the help I could get. He really liked the card!

Here's the inside...Nothing "special", but at least it isn't nekkid!

Supplies: DSP-Wanted (Cosmo Cricket). Cardstock-Crumbcake, More Mustard, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip (SU). Sentiment-Random Sayings Stickerz (E.A.D. Designs). Die Cuts-Bracket Tab, By the Numbers, By the Letters (MFT)

OWH Sketch #107

Here's my card for this week's OWH Sketch. I used a little "creative license" on this one. Hopefully they won't throw my card out and ban me from the site for changin' things up a little! :-DI actually got out my ProMarkers for this one. I just got them a couple of weeks ago and I have been afraid to try them. Not too bad for the first try. Just don't look too close!
Supplies: DSP-Blossom Soup (Jillibean Soup). CS-Whisper White, Daffodil Delight (SU). Stamp-Pure Innocence Ladybug (MFT). Ribbon (stash). Ink-Tuxedo Black Momento (Tsukineko).

Swap-bot

Let me introduce you to "Flopsey Bunches of Hearts"...isn't he adorable? This is the card for my Card Addicts group on Swap-bot. Hearts for February is the theme and I think I hit it on several marks! If you haven't ever tried Swap-bot you should check them out. I have really enjoyed swapping with like minded cardmakers like me.

Here is the inside. This is kinda new to me. I usually leave them nekid! ;-D
Supplies: DSP-unknown (SU). Cardstock-Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Real Red (SU). Stamps-Flopsey Bunch of Hearts (MFT). Conversation Hearts Embossing Folder (ProvoCraft). Die-namics Layered Heart (MFT).

OWH Sketch #105...

How's this for miracles...I actually finished two card challenges! Yippee!! This time I went for the Operation Write Home sketch. I love OWH sketches and the organization itself is so inspiring. I really want to start contributing to their mission. I just need to get my craftroom finished so I can focus on cardmaking...not organizing!
As you can see I used just about everything I used in my Mojo Monday card. Much easier than putting everything back and starting from scratch!
Supplies (All Stampin' Up except where otherwise noted): DSP-Spice Cake. Cardstock-Crumbcake, Pool Party, Soft Suede. Ink-Pool Party, Soft Suede, Momento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko). Stamps-Triple Treat Flower. Punches-Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower. Dies-Open Scallop Doiley (MFT)

Mojo Monday #225

Yeah! I finally got a Mojo Monday card finished on time. I really love this sketch. There are so many variations...I can see myself using it again and again. Please pardon the photography. That's just one more skill I will have to brush up on. Until then...Here goes!
I did deviate ever-so-slightly from the original sketch, but I think it fits the bill. To me, that's truely what sketches are for. To challenge us and stretch our imaginations!
Supplies (all Stampin' Up except where otherwise noted): DSP-Spice Cake. Cardstock-Crumbcake, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla. Ink-Pool Party, Soft Suede, Momento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko). Stamps-Triple Treat Flower, Wishful Elegance (Verve). Punches-Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower.

First Official post...

Good Morning! I'm just checking things out right now. Hopefully I will have the courage to post a couple of cards I made and link them up to their challenges. This is a learning process for me, and I'm a slow learner. Please, please, please be patient with me!
